Fox News host Chris Wallace was pushed beyond his breaking point Sunday when a Democrat who was asked about Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server insisted on dragging what Wallace called "a red herring" into the discussion.
Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., sought to focus his appearance on Fox News Sunday on the fact that former Secretary of State Colin Powell has said he used a private email server to communicate with State Department employees while he was in the process of modernizing technology at the State Department. Schiff sought to liken Powell's actions to those of Clinton, who used a private home-based server for multiple top secret communications during her tenure as secretary of state.
During the interview, Wallace asked Schiff about the attempted hacks against Clinton's server, but Schiff sought to talk about Powell. Wallace interrupted Schiff and then sounded off.

"Wait a minute. No, no, I'm sorry, I'm sorry," he said. "Hillary Clinton is running for president. Colin Powell is not running for president. The rules in 2004 were completely different. They're complete different guidelines. Sir, the guidelines were repeatedly strengthened in 2005, in 2006, in 2007 — 2011. Hillary Clinton was operating in a different world. Can we please stay to the issue of what Hillary Clinton did or didn't do and not talk about Colin Powell?"
"Well, I know you don't want to talk about Colin Powell because you — you don't want to …" replied Schiff.

Wallace said the comparison was irrelevant and pressed home his point about whether the server Clinton used was secure.
"She should not have used the private server. She's admitted she should not have used a private server," Schiff said.
He later sought to return the interview to Powell. " … please let me at least finish the point," he said.
"Not on Powell. I'm — I'm — forgive me, I'm going to keep going. I — I — I — we're done with Colin Powell," Wallace said.

"I think it's very telling, though, Chris, that there's no interest in anyone here but Secretary Clinton. That, to me, is a very different standard," Schiff said after some crosstalk ended.
"Really?" replied Wallace. "Because she's the only one running for president."
"Yes, but does that mean that other secretaries didn't use the same practice, that their practices are irrelevant here?" Schiff then insisted.
"I — I think, first of all, we've shown that it is — it is different. And, secondly, I think it's, frankly, a red herring, sir, and I would expect more from you," he said.
Future Hosting, a leading provider of VPS and dedicated server hosting, has advised eCommerce merchants and site owners to use SSL / TLS certificates signed using the SHA2 hashing algorithm. The warning comes in light of recent announcements by Microsoft (as reported in Ars Technica on May 4, 2016) and other browser makers that they will no longer consider SHA1 signed certificates sufficient for identity validation.
Identity validation is an important function of SSL / TLS certificates used to secure online communication. Certificate Authorities are tasked with validating the identity of certificate applicants and signing a hash of certificates with their private key. Browsers are able to verify the hash and the signature, which was considered sufficient to validate the identity of the certificate and its domain.
"It's quite unlikely that an attacker could generate a hash collision for an SHA1 hash, but out of an abundance of caution, browser makers have decided that SHA1-signed certificates are not reliable," said Maulesh Patel, VP of Operations of Future Hosting, ?Over the next few months, browsers will stop trusting these certs - they'll still work, but users will not be given the visual indications of security they're used to, and may eventually receive warnings."
In recent years, it has become increasingly clear that the hashing algorithm often used digitally sign certificates is not sufficiently secure. Identity validation depends on the extremely low probability that a third-party could generate a hash matching that of a signed certificate. It has been demonstrated that with modern computing technology, the chances of such a hash collision are high enough to reduce confidence in the validity of certificates.
Future Hosting advises eCommerce merchants and site owners to have certificates signed using the SHA1 hash algorithm regenerated, and to ensure that any future certificates are signed using the more secure SHA2 algorithm.

VMware Fusion
I'm using my Mac for web development. A few months ago, I installed Windows XP onto VMware Fusion so I can do some testing / I use Internet Explorer to preview everything (including websites). I also have Apache running on the Mac too. Would it be possible for me to access the host OS from the guest OS?
Trust, but verify! One congressman learned that lesson the hard way this week, when MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell caught him repeatedly making false statements about HillaryClinton's email scandal on air.
On Andrea Mitchell Reports, the host brought on democratic congressman Adam Schiff to discuss the email use. The congressman was quick to defend Clinton, saying the report showed that "going back at least four secretaries of state each of them has either in full or in part used private email to conduct official business…"
But the MSNBC host corrected him, telling him Madeline Albright and Condoleezza Rice never used any email. Colin Powell used personal and state emails as did JohnKerry. Hillary Clinton used her personal email address, as well as a personal server.
PHOTOS: Putting Her Best Face Forward! Hillary Clinton Had Plastic Surgery Makeover For White House Run, Top Surgeons Reveal
"She's the only one who had a private server," Mitchell said. "She's the only one who did not cooperate with the investigators, and she's the only one who was not out front about it." The host went on to say of Powell that he only used private emails to "try to send a signal to the workforce to start using emails, to drag the State Department into the 21st century."
But Schiff argued, "Powell was the first secretary of state to use personal email exclusively for official business. He didn't provide any of those emails when he left office."
Mitchell insisted that was not what the report said, however. "The facts are that when Secretary Kerry came into office, it was long before anybody knew about the private server. And he was transitioning from the senate and immediately archived those…[Clinton] is the only secretary of state who not only used a private server, but turned over nothing."

Many people think of WordPress as a simple blogging platform, but this flexible content management system (CMS) has a deep catalog of free and premium themes and plug-ins that make it the backbone supporting millions of websites, including high-profiles ones like CNN, Grantland, and TED, as well as small business sites and even personal blogs. If you've thought about creating a WordPress-powered site for business or personal use, you should consider going the managed WordPress Web hosting route.
Managed WordPress Web Hosting Explained Managed WordPress hosting uses a platform that's designed specifically for WordPress. In fact, the CMS comes preinstalled—you don't have to download and set up a WordPress installation as you'd do when using a traditional Web hosting environment. Managed WordPress hosting behaves very much like any other self-hosted WordPress installation, giving you the freedom to install nearly any theme or plug-in. That said, some managed WordPress hosts have a short list of restricted plug-ins that may negatively affect your site's performance or duplicate features already built into the managed setup.
Please understand that not every Web host offers managed WordPress hosting—it isn't a ubiquitous feature. For example, Dreamhost boasts managed WordPress hosting, while HostMonster does not.
Managed WordPress hosting prices are all over the map. Entry-level plans will cost roughly that of shared Web hosting, but higher-tier plans can scale upward to around $60 per month. The upside? Your WordPress installation should run more smoothly in a managed WordPress environment than in a traditional hosting environment. In addition, going the managed WordPress route may save you money, as you don't need to pay for a system administrator to perform the same job. This is particularly beneficial to small businesses.
Dozens of companies offer managed WordPress hosting, including traditional Web hosts like DreamHost and Media Temple. Other companies, such as Pagely and Pressable, base their entire business models on managing WordPress installations.
Companies that offer managed WordPress Web hosting provide daily website backups, automatic plug-in updates, page caching for faster site load times, malware detection and removal, and—last but not least—WordPress-centric security options. Security is critically important. As one of the world's largest content management systems, Wordpress is a high-profile target.
In short, a managed WordPress installation gives you a few less things to worry about when creating content or reaching out to potential customers.
The Features You Need Before you sign up for a managed WordPress Web hosting service, you should look for these attractive—and possibly essential—features. Ideally, you'll want to invest in a managed WordPress host that provides unlimited monthly data transfers, email, storage, and 24/7 support. There are quite a few managed WordPress Web hosts that place caps on those features; WP Engine, for example, limits sites to 400,000 visitors and a paltry 30GB of storage. If you expect lots of site growth, you'll want a host that can properly accommodate your website's future expansion.
Additionally, you'll want a service that offers Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) if you plan to sell products. Ever see a green padlock in your browser's address bar while you're on your bank's website? That's the symbol that tells visitors that SSL is in place. It's a symbol of trustworthiness.
An SSL connection encrypts the data that travels between your site and users' Web browsers, thus safeguarding the transmission of purchasing information. All the managed WordPress hosting services in this roundup offer SSL certificates, but the prices vary from company to company. Some companies include a free SSL certificate when you sign up for a hosting plan, while others charge close to $100.
You'll also need to consider how long you'll need managed WordPress Web hosting. If it's a short-term project—say, less than a month or two—you'll typically receive a refund should you cancel your hosting within 60 days. Some companies offer 30-day money-back guarantees, while others offer 90-day money-back guarantees. Once again, it's beneficial to do your homework.
Naturally, your Web hosting needs will differ from the next person's, but keep these features in mind if you want a silky smooth managed WordPress experience.
Uptime Importance The aforementioned features are valuable to the Web hosting experience, but none matches the importance of site uptime. If your site is down, clients or customers will be unable to find you or access your blog or your products or services.
We've added uptime monitoring to our review process, and the results show that the most Web hosts do an excellent job of keeping sites up and running. Web hosts with uptime issues cannot qualify for inclusion among the best services in the field, no matter how solid their rest of their offering is.
Do You Need Managed WordPress Hosting? Managed WordPress hosting isn't a one-size-fits-all option. If you're a system administrator, or someone who's familiar with the ins and outs of WordPress, you can manage a WordPress installation yourself. That's important to note, because some of the managed WordPress Web hosts we've reviewed are significantly more expensive than non-managed WordPress Web hosting. It's wise to shop around.
Also, a managed WordPress environment won't allow you to set up a non-WordPress site—that's something else to keep in mind, especially if you have a site in mind that will rely on specific Microsoft frameworks, for example. In such instances, you'll want to go build your site on shared, VPS, or dedicated Web hosting services.
Still, if you'd rather just create posts, pages, and galleries, managed WordPress hosting is an attractive option. We've reviewed many managed WordPress hosting services and included the best of the bunch in this guide. The chart above, which includes traditional Web hosts that offer managed WordPress hosting and dedicated managed WordPress services, gives you a quick overview of the features you can find with each service. If you want a more in-depth look at managed WordPress hosting services, take a look at the blurbs—and links to full reviews—below.
Every business—and that includes small businesses, enterprises, and sole-proprietorships—needs a website, but the monthly costs can mean the difference between a full-blown ecommerce presence or a static page listing your hours and location. Cost is a critically important consideration when selecting a Web host. But while it's a truism that you get what you pay for, it's also true that every penny counts and that there are some great Web hosting deals to be had.
What Is a Cheap Web Host? First, let's define Web hosts in general. A Web host is a company with servers that you use to store and deliver the files that make up your website. Large businesses can spend hundreds of dollars each year on dedicated Web hosting or virtual private server (VPS) hosting, but there are plenty of Web hosts designed specifically for very small businesses, too.
That's exactly what the services collected here focus on—these are good, functional Web hosting companies that will get your website online with the least amount of damage to your wallet. That's something that we can all appreciate. But how cheap?
Pricing in our list of cheap Web hosts is based on the regular monthly prices, with no discounts applied for the starter plans. If the host offers monthly plans, that's the price we use, even though many of them work out to be cheaper on a per-month basis if you pay upfront for the annual plan. If you're buying on price, you might not want to pay the full year up front, even if it means saving a bit on the back end. Some budgets really are that tight, and some projects may not last a year. Our cutoff for inclusion in this table is that a provider must charge $8 per month or less. Yes, that's an arbitrary number. We chose $8 per month because that means you can have Web hosting for less than $100 per year.
The Features You'll Need Setting up a website with your own domain is easy, and most importantly, it doesn't have to be expensive. Do you need email, blogging software, email marketing, e-commerce, and file sharing?
Also worth highlighting is the service's customer support. While it's nice to have FAQs and forums, when it's 3 a.m. and your website is inexplicably down, you want someone available right away. Look for 24/7 customer support.
What Cheap Web Hosting Gets You Cheap Web hosting excludes the powerful and relatively pricey dedicated and VPS hosting options. Instead, you'll need to pick a Shared or managed WordPress hosting plan.
Shared hosting is a setup in which the hosting company runs multiple websites on a server along with your site. Don't let the "shared" bit worry you, though, since you can't peek into anyone else's files and no one else can touch yours. The benefit? Sharing the server space translates to cheap prices for everyone. The downside? Neighboring sites that consume too many resources may cause your site to run at less than peak performance. They might even crash it from time to time.
Managed WordPress hosting services let you set up and run a WordPress blog with minimum fuss. If your business website's primary function is to be a blog, then do your wallet a favor and don't bother with shared hosting plans or other types of Web hosting.
One thing we learned while reviewing Web hosting services is that reading the fine print matters, especially if you are concerned about keeping prices low. Many Web hosts have several tiers of service, with introductory features in starter packages and expanded offerings in higher-priced plans. Don't get swayed by the big fonts touting the monthly fee: Make sure that a particular tier actually offers what you need.
Some hosts charge extra for the tools you might use to design your website. Other hosts require you to commit to a three-year hosting agreement in order to get that low per-month price. Or the price is an introductory one, and after a month, you will revert to a higher price. Until you know what features you need and how quickly you plan to grow, don't commit to annual plans.
Uptime Is Important The aforementioned features are valuable to the Web hosting experience, but none match the importance of site uptime. If your site is down, clients or customers will be unable to find you or access your products or services. Every customer turned away is a potential sale lost and traffic not monetized.
We've recently added uptime monitoring to our review process, and the results show that most Web hosts do an excellent job of keeping sites up and running. Even if they excel at all other facets of hosting, services with uptime issues can't qualify as top services.
You Don't Have to DIY If your primary goal is cheap service, and your needs are modest, you do have an alternative to the Web hosts listed in this table: website builders. For those who just want a good-looking without any extras—a brochure-ware site, for example—you can skip traditional Web hosting and check out website builder services such as Weebly and DudaOne.
If you don't care about having your own domain and don't want to do a lot of behind-the-scenes tweaking, you should really consider one of these online website builders, as they let you create surprisingly attractive yet functional sites hosted under their domains. Furthermore, these services can be incredibly cheap: Some offer free plans, though that generally means you'll have branding on your site for the website builder's company. You can often pay to get your own domain, and that generally removes the branding as well. But if you need some control over your domain and need a little bit more functionality, Web hosting is the way to go.
So What's Cheap? As you can see from the above table, not all cheap Web hosts are created equal. Some have data transfer allotment and storage caps. Read the fine print for the unlimited offerings, however, as there are sometimes gotchas that might sneak up on you later. Other services limit what applications you can use. Some require you to upgrade to a higher tier just to get a particular feature. And then there are the bare-bones services offering just space and no built-in tools to make the process of building and maintaining a site easier. If you're a skilled coder, that might be fine. Which Web host you select depends entirely on how you plan to use it—and your budget. If you are ready to select a great Web hosting service that's also cheap, click the links below to check out our in-depth reviews of the best names in the space.

Large or small, every business needs a website. A company without a Web presence leaves many opportunities on the table, as a well-designed website is a factor to attracting clients or customers. And those visitors can translate into big money. You don't want to miss out on the money, so choosing a Web hosting service and setting up your website is essential. Fortunately, with the right service, the process can be relatively simple and reasonably affordable.
Getting Started
The first step is to find a Web host, the company that will store your website's files on its servers and deliver them to your readers' and customers' browsers. Web hosting services offer varying amounts of monthly data transfers, storage, email, and other features. Even how you pay (month-to-month payments vs. annual payments) can be radically different, too, so taking the time to plot out exactly what your company needs for online success is essential.
Web hosting services also offer different types of hosting, including shared, virtual private server (VPS), dedicated hosting, and managed WordPress hosting plans. Shared hosting is good for users who don't want to spend a lot of money on hosting packages and don't mind some of its traffic and data transfer limitations. VPS hosting is great for small businesses that want more power than shared hosting, but don't want to deal with dedicated hosting's prices. Dedicated hosting, on the other hand, is both powerful and pricey; it's reserved for sites that experience incredibly high levels of traffic per day. Managed WordPress hosting is for those who want to build their sites on the back of the popular WordPress content management system (CMS), but don't want to bother with a lot of the backend stuff (such as updating the apps and CMS, and enabling automatic backups).
If you're not sure of the type of hosting your business will needed, start small with shared Web hosting. You can always graduate to a more robust, feature-rich package of, say, VPS hosting or even dedicated hosting in the future. Unfortunately, some hosts don't offer all hosting types. Consider how much you expect to grow your website, and how soon, before you commit to anything longer than a one-year plan. It's worth spending the time up front to make sure that the host you select with is able to provide the growth you envision for your site, as switching Web hosting providers midstream is not a trivial undertaking.
Once you decide you price range, you need to consider how long you'll need Web hosting. If it's a short-term project—say, less than a month or two—you can typically receive a refund should you cancel your hosting within 60 days. Some companies offer 30-day money-back guarantees, others offer 90-day money-back guarantees. Once again, it's beneficial to do your homework.
The Features You Need
Many Web hosts offer limited features in their starter packages and then expand the offerings (sometimes tremendously) for higher-tier plans. Read the small type to make sure the plan you are selecting offers what you need. If you need a site builder application to design your website, make sure that the low-cost Web host you are picking actually comes with a site builder. Many of them require you to pay for the builder as a separate add-on. Website builders usually don't cost a lot of money, but if you can find a Web host that includes one for free, that's money in your pocket. And, if it's integrated with your hosting service, you're more likely to have a smooth, supported experience.
You also want a Web host with 24/7 customer support—if not by phone, then at least by chat. Forums, knowledge bases, and help tickets are all well and good, but sometimes you just need to communicate with another human to get things ironed out as quickly as possible. That said, not all 24/7 customer support teams are created equally. Companies like GoDaddy and Liquid Web boast incredibly knowledgeable and helpful customer support squads—a fact that we confirmed in our in-depth reviews of those Web hosting services.
When it comes to server operating systems, Linux is typically the default option. Still, some services offer a choice of Linux or Windows hosting. If you have specific server-side applications that require Windows, such as SQL Server or a custom application written in .NET, then you need to make sure your Web host has Windows hosting. But don't let the idea of a Linux host intimidate you. Nowadays, most Web hosts offer a graphical interface or a control panel to simplify server administration and website management. Instead of typing at the command line, you'll click easily identifiable icons.
Windows hosting is oftentimes a few dollars more expensive than Linux hosting, especially in the dedicated server area. That's not always the case, but it's something you should be aware of as you shop around.
Uptime, Uptime, Uptime! The aforementioned features are valuable to the Web hosting experience, but none matches the importance of site uptime. If your site is down, clients or customers will be unable to find you or access your products or services.
Recently, we've added uptime monitoring to our review process, and the results show that most Web hosts do an excellent job of keeping sites up and running. Web hosts with uptime issues are heavily penalized during the review process and are unable to qualify for our top ratings.
Some Additional Information One thing we learned in reviewing the services listed here (and many more) is that even though the packages are very similar, they are not identical. Some are more security-focused than others, offering anti-spam and anti-malware tools. Others offer a variety of email marketing tools. While most of the hosts we've reviewed have built-in e-commerce, you may want to consider using a more-robust third-party online shopping cart application like Shopify instead.

WordPress is a very easy platform to use as well as being extremely popular. You can install it on virtually any Linux-based hosting service, as long as it supports PHP and MySQL. There are also specialized WordPress hosting services available from top providers. WP-Engine and GoDaddy, for example, both offer WordPress hosting with pre-installed version of WordPress ready to be used. So, do you really need specialized WordPress hosting? Here are 5 reasons why you do.
1. WordPress Optimized Server
The first and probably the most important reason why WordPress hosting is a good idea when you are starting a new site using WordPress is performance. Unlike conventional hosting services, WordPress hosting is pre-configured to work really well with WordPress. You get a number of features that other hosting services may not offer.
For starters, Memcache or other server-side caching is usually used to boost the performance of your WordPress site. Since caching can really help speed up your site massively, this a feature that can be very handy to have. Of course you don't always need to rely on your web hosting provider to enable this for you. You could attempt it yourself. Some WordPress hosting also comes with Nginx pre-installed, allowing your site to handle a large number of traffic without even flinching.
Hosting services optimized for WordPress also work well with other WordPress plugins, including plugins that handle CDN (Content Distribution Networks) and various other advanced features. Configuring these plugins to work with the WordPress hosting server should not be difficult at all.
2. Affordable Hosting Costs
You can now get your WordPress site running smoothly for as little as £1 per month. Since WordPress doesn't require a large amount of server resources to work smoothly, hosting companies are offering their WordPress hosting service at reasonable prices nonetheless. Depending on the size of your WordPress site, you can even get a suitable hosting service for less than £1 per month by opting for a smaller service plan.
WordPress hosting is not only affordable in the long run. It is also among the most affordable hosting services to begin with. If you choose to use a monthly billing cycle, you may not even have to spend more than £5 to get your site up and running, including your own domain name and other services.
3. Lots of Freebies
Being a very popular platform, WordPress is used by thousands – if not millions – of sites out there. The latest statistics said that there are more than 2,000 new WordPress-based websites being introduced every hour. As you can see, the market for WordPress hosting is a lucrative one indeed.
This is why hosting companies are offering more freebies and bonuses to win your business. If you are in the process of searching for the right WordPress hosting service to use, you will see a lot of these offers for sure. A free domain name, free advertising credits and various other offers are yours to take. All you have to do is sign up for the hosting service plan of your choice and claim these bonuses.
The free advertising credits in particular are very interesting. You can jump-start your WordPress site by advertising it through Google AdWords, Facebook Ad network and other advertising networks without even spending any of your money in the process. Used correctly, these free advertising credits can really boost your traffic from the beginning.
4. Maximum Compatibility
Need to add your own help-desk or install an online forum? Your WordPress hosting service package should support the best web applications and platforms perfectly. These scripts use the same combination of PHP and MySQL, so you can still add other web applications to your site without having to purchase a separate hosting plan.
The server itself is optimized for WordPress. Your main site will perform beautifully even under heavy load. That said, the rest of the site will still be very much accessible – and performing well – even without the optimizations.
5. Top Support
If you are relatively new to WordPress or if you still need help with setting up your site, opting for WordPress hosting is the best way to go. The support officers behind your hosting service can help you tackle various WordPress related tasks, from setting up themes and plugins to optimizing the entire site for maximum speed.
This is part of the benefits of using WordPress hosting. You also get years of expertise and experience from the hosting company. Setting up particular WordPress hooks or trying to add a specific feature to your site will be very easy to do, even when you have no prior experience in developing a WordPress site before, because you can always ask for technical support.
With these benefits to enjoy, opting for a specialized WordPress hosting is the best way to go if you want to set up a new site using WordPress. The same goes for when you want to expand your existing WordPress site further. The performance boost offered by WordPress optimized hosting is definitely a huge plus you can benefit from.
Enjoy peace of mind and value for your money with quality affordable managed hosting solutions.
Los Angeles, CA, May 11, 2016 --(PR.com)-- In a bid to continue delivering hosting solutions that not only ensure customer satisfaction but also help drive productivity and growth of clients and their businesses, Crissic recently revamped its VPS plans and now offers Managed VPS with free cPanel/WHM control panel and round-the-clock server monitoring and support.
Now a subsidiary of QuadraNet, Inc. after the acquisition in late-2015, different adjustments and improvements have been made to ensure the provision of premium and high-quality managed VPS hosting services, and an upscale user experience. The continuous quality service delivery is highly attributed to the availability of managed VPS in more locations, such as Los Angeles (US-West), Dallas (US-Central) and Miami (US-East), offering a wider coverage and more efficient service delivery. "We take a better approach with our Managed VPS Hosting," said Adam Ng, Director of Business Development for Crissic. "Unlike the trad itional hosting model of containing virtual private servers with OpenVZ which allows for over-allocation of resources, all Crissic Managed VPS infrastructure is being virtualized on the hardware-side, with KVM virtualization infrastructure, providing you with high levels of performance, as all of your resources are 100% dedicated."
The acquisition by QuadraNet, Inc. also brought about the operation of its own datacenters allowing for better service delivery and infrastructure control. This is in addition to the operation of its own high-performance network (AS62639), providing excellent network connectivity globally. When asked about the changes that have been made to Crissic since the acquisition, Ng mentioned: "Prior to this acquisition, Crissic was chiefly focused on what would be considered 'budget' KVM and OpenVZ-based virtual private servers. With the relaunch of Crissic, we're excited that we have now shifted this brand's emphasis on providing premium, managed K VM VPS hosting solutions backed by the seasoned parent company QuadraNet, Inc."
In addition to the state-of-the-art facilities and quality managed hosting solutions delivered to clients across the globe, Crissic has a 24X7 support and help desk available to answer to enquiries and needs of customers with any issues that concerns VPS and such related services.
The managed VPS comes in four different packages allowing customers to choose the best-suited package based on factors such as cost and requirement. Clients have access to Managed Virtual Private Servers allowing for ultimate peace of mind 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year.
